Army Public School Udhampur
The APS Udhampur is one of the 1st five 10+2 co-educational school founded under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). It was started in July the year 1980 with a strength of 316 candidates from Nursery to class 9th. The Army Public School was then known as Army High School, Udhampur. During the academic session 1981-82, class 10th was added in the academic session 1985-1986, class 11th was started.
Army Public School Udhampur – Admissions to 2020 – 2021 Academic Year
In the year 1985, the Carmel Convent School, which was run through the Bishop of Catholic Church, was taken over by the army and re-designated as Army School Number 2, Udhampur. Subsequently, during the year 1986, for reasons of better education, administration & economy, Army School Number 2 was merged & raised to the status of Army Public School (APS) Udhampur.
Presently the school is functioning in two wings.
(a) Senior Wing of the APS school (class 6th to 12th) has a strength of 2399 students.
(b) Junior Wing (class first to 3rd) with 1241 students.

Rules
1. For new Admission for children of Army personnel at always of the year is guaranteed.
2. For the other children without the Army children, the admission depend on the number of vacancies available.
3. A subjected to an entrance exam the all civilian children.
4. Students coming from schools other than Army Schools will have to undergo an admission test. All candidates seeking admission in Class 11th and 12th will be required to sit for the admission test.
Withdrawal / Transfer Certificate
1. Parents/Guardians are required to give one week’s notice to the APS school for withdrawal of their wards.
2. The transfer certificate and security deposit are released on the clearance of school dues.
3. Parents/Guardians will have to pay fees for the month in which the transfer certificate (TC) is issued.
4. Those who plan to leave the school must apply for transfer certificate latest by 31st March. Applications received for TC after the 5th of every month will be required to pay annual charges and fees for that month. In accordance with the school policy, all who have failed twice in the same class are to collect their transfer certificate within seven days of declaration of the results of the supplementary examination.
5. If the transfer certificate (TC) is required before the result declaration, at the end of the session, the parents/Guardians are requested to leave a stamped & self-addressed registered envelope with A.D. Slip to provide to all students, so that the same can be posted after the teachers have compiled the results.
General instructions
1. Punctuality & regularity in attendance is a must.
2. Students should wear neat and proper school uniform on all working days.
3. Boys should have their hair trimmed. Older boys should be clean-shaven. No “mushroom cut” hairstyle is allowed. Sikh boys should use blue Turban.
4. Girls should have their hair well-groomed (Girls with long hair should have it plaited neatly). Jewelry should be avoided. Only simple earrings are allowed. Colouring of hair and the use of Mehendi in hands are forbidden. (Bangles, No fancy earrings or finger rings to be worn.)
5. Nails should be properly trimmed. The use of nail polish is forbidden to the Girls.
6. If the Students failed in English so they will be fined.
7. Discipline must be maintained always very strictly and movement between classrooms or labs must be orderly and silent.
8. Any candidate is not permitted to drive a car/scooter any other vehicle without valid license. If any candidates broke the rules so appropriate punishment will be given. We are requested to the student’s parents not to give/buy their wards any scooter, bike or car.
9. Candidates should observe polite standards at all times.
10. Students are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings, which should be well labeled. School property should not be tampered with or damaged. Anyone found damaging the property will be fined Rs. 100/- in addition to the cost of the damaged property. The student parents will have to bear the cost of the damage.
