St. Stephen’s School was established in 1950. St. Stephen’s School is an English Medium, Co-educational Institution, with the aim of developing an all-round ability of the students with a balanced training that will lead to a proper appreciation of academic, athletic, ethical and moral excellence which goes into the making of a complete person.

Mr. Harold Carver, an excellent teacher in St. John's School, found certain things wanting in the education system and visualized an institution that will remove those flaws. Mr. Carver started a school from residential buildings in Sector 8, Chandigarh. Through sheer dedication, foresight and meticulous planning, he was successful in establishing St. Stephen's School which now caters to over 2400 students.

Mr. Louis Lopez joined St. Stephen's as Headmaster in March 2014 after teaching in various schools across the country. His passion for quality education of children has grown over the 20 odd years of his experience as he worked with the Christian Brothers, private schools and the corporate. Besides having mainly taught science and mathematics in CBSE, ICSE and IGCSE schools, he had conducted teacher-training sessions and written modules for the teaching of Physics and Geography.

All the students and staff members are divided into four Houses namely Jupiter, Neptune, Saturn and Mars. The much awaited House Shows are an annual feature. Come September and the staff and students are busy making preparation for the house shows, which are a form of inter house competitions. Students perform plays, folk and western dances etc. and try to outdo the other houses.
