Army Public School, Amritsar Cantt
The Army Public School Amritsar Cantt was founded on 01 May 1985 under the directions and guidance of Mr. AK Dewan, the then General Officer in Commanding, Panther Division. The school began initially with only 156 students, which over the years, has increased to 2560 students. the school was affiliated to the CBSE New Delhi in the year 1985 up to 8th Standard after upgraded to the Secondary School in the year 1986 and Senior Secondary School in the year 1996. At Present the school is running Commerce, Humanities & Science Streams in 10+2 (12th) standard.
It is an organization of nonprofit oriented welfare which is imparting education mainly to the children of defense personnel, & a limited number of other categories including civilians. The School’s aim is to provide the best quality education to children whereby they are strong and also inculcate strong moral and ethical values.

Admission Test
1. The admission test will include the syllabus of class preceding to which admission is sought.
2. If the candidates completed the Academic Session and Transferrable cases from other Army Schools need not appear for admission tests so have to submit academic records along with Transfer Certificate (TC).
3. New admissions shall have to produce a transfer certificate from the school last attended. Children who are not from Army School have to submit a certificate endorsed by DEO of the District.
4. However, in no case any child of Serving soldiers, war widow and Ex-serviceman be denied admission.
5. The admission of the child is at the discretion of the Principal.

Classes – Subjects
First – Five – English, Hindi, Mathematics
Six – Ten – English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.
Eleven – Twelve – English & Elective subjects
PRIORITIES
1st Class – Children of Serving Army Personnel inclusive of DSC & War Widows.
2nd Class – Children of Army &DSC personnel.
3rd Class – Children of Serving Air force & Naval personnel.
4th Class – Children of Retd. Air force & Naval personnel.
5th Class – Children of Paramilitary & Civ. employed by Defence.
6th Class – Children of Rest
Proof of Age
In the case of Defence personnel, a copy of part –II order, duly attested by CO will be accepted as proof of age.
Cut off Percentage for admission for class XI
(i) For all three streams
(ii) For Science and /or Commerce stream
