Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa, has prepared this prospectus for admissions to the 1st Year of Professional Degree courses in the State of Goa. The information given herein pertains to Common Entrance Test and admission procedure applicable to the Government, Government-aided and un-aided colleges in Goa offering Bachelor’s Degree courses in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Dentistry, Medicine (Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, ), Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences, and Nursing. DTE is also authorized to process admission/registration for the following seats, for which separate prospectus is issued.
GCET Exam 2020-2021 – Goa Common Entrance Test 2020 – 2021
1. Direct admissions to 2nd Year of Degree courses for Diploma & B. Sc. Degree holders.
2. Diploma programs in the Polytechnics in Goa. Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) shall also carry out admissions to B.V.Sc. and A.H. Degree Course 2020- 2021 for seats reserved by Govt.of Goa for students from Goa State. The information pertaining to the same is also included in this Prospectus.
Process admission
Applicants are required to submit Form ‘A’ as per the notified schedule, together with specified enclosures. The Choice of seats in the Institutions will be offered during the admission round, based On Merit position in the General Category Merit list, which includes all category applicants. ‘
Required documents
(i) Application Form for GCET-20
(ii) In the prospectus, (depending on the course opted) Application Form (A/B) for Admission to all the courses mentioned.
(iii) Syllabus for GCET-20 in all subjects, (Refer Annexure-II)
(iv) A sample Objective Response Sheet (ORS).
Age
An applicant to Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Science, B.V.Sc.&A.H. & Nursing must have completed the age of 17 (seventeen) years on or before 31st December of the academic year of admission to become eligible for admission to 1st Year. No age limit for te test, minimum or maximum, is specified for admission/registration to Engineering & Pharmacy Courses.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. The applicant should have passed the Higher School Certificate (Std.12th) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination & secured not less than 50 marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Biology (47.5% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, and OBC for admissions to MAFSU, & 40% in case of admissions to RIVER). Candidates should appear and qualify at
NEET-2020.
2. Candidate should be a resident from the State of Goa with a minimum residence of 15 years. For the purpose, the candidate would be submitted (minimum last 15 years) Certificate of residence preceding the month of application. Alternatively, applicants may submit a ‘Bonafide student’ certificate from recognized schools in the State, provided the period of Residence is clearly established from the same.
– Case regarding the Residence, candidates submit a Residence Certificate issued by the Mamlatdar. The onus of consequences of any dispute arising, as regards fulfillment of Residence requirement by the applicant shall lie solely upon the applicant.
3. Candidates should compulsorily serve State Government in rural areas on a stipend basis for a minimum period of one year, upon completion of the course(Degree/PG Degree) for stipend amount as may be prescribed by the Government at the relevant time for which there shall be no relaxation.
4. Candidates need to sign an agreement bond on prescribed stamp paper for due diligence and compliance of conditions as prescribed by the Government from time to time, in view of the support fees(Rs. 6.60 lakhs to RIVER/Rs. 2.5 lakhs to MAFSU) payable to the Universities/ Institutions, being borne by the Government.
5. In case there are no eligible candidates or seats remain vacant in SC, ST, OBC, EWS Category, then the same shall be filled from General Category.
Qualifying Examination and Minimum Marks
An applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination, which in scope and standard, is understand to be equivalent to the H.S.S.C. examination of Goa Board, and must have obtained the minimum percentage of marks in the specific subjects, as prescribed for the admission to respective professional courses, as under.
