The late Gen BC Joshi PVSM AVSM looked was a dream, he wanted setting up an ideal educational institution of international standards and this dream with Army Public School NOIDA was born. The Army Public school was established on 17 February 1995, by Gen Shankar Roy Chowdhury PVSM ADC Chief of the Army Staff The philosophy behind APS Noida is to provide One of education that covered to idealism & philosophy with the rational outlook of the west. Army Public School Noida, Uttar Pradesh – Admissions to 2020 – 2021 Academic Year
The school started functioning on 01 September 1995 in the present Primary Wing for classes 5th-8th with 59 students, 4 classrooms & 8 teachers. A year later in 1996-1997, APS NOIDA was founded as a composite school for classes I-X. The student strength rose to 421 candidates by the end of the session.
Classes 11th and 12th were introduced with Science & Commerce streams with 13 subjects from the session 1997-1998. By the end of the session, the students’ strength rose to 805. In the session 1998-99, the Humanities/Management Science Stream was introduced at the +2 level. Now a total of fourteen subjects are being offered at senior secondary level under 3 different streams with 14 different combinations of subjects.
Admission Criteria
Priorities (1)
(a) All Army personnel posted to Delhi (New Delhi) shall remain Priority 1st. For the admission only one condition, whose not already admitted to any other school in Delhi.
(b) who the widows of Army Personnel move to Noida within 1 year of demise of their husband.
(c) Disabled whose ward not admitted in Delhi, already. the army personnel settle in Noida/Greater Noida/ Sarita Vihar/ Faridabad / East Delhi.
Army personnel posted to Delhi who admits their wards in schools located close to their place of residence, subsequently applying for change on allotment of accommodation in an area that is covered by the APS bus services.
(e) Retiring Army personnel who intend to settle in NOIDA, India, Provided their wards are studying in Army Public School at the last duty station.
Priorities (2)
(i) Army personnel posted in operational areas/field/non-family stations, who select Noida, Uttar Pradesh as their place of residence.
(ii) Serving Army personnel in Delhi/ Outside Delhi desirous of a change of school for their wards.
(iii) Ex-Army personnel in receipt of pension including Army personnel who retired during mid-session and settle in Delhi/NOIDA.
(iv) Released Army personnel not in receipt of a pension (also Air Force and Navy).
House System
* To develop team spirit & a competitive edge, every child in the army school is a part of 1 house and the school conducts various competitions between the houses.
* Name of houses is on the basis of 5 life supporting means elements of this UNIVERSE viz. Agni, Akash, Prithvi, Pawan, and Sagar
